Martha Potts, PhD

About Executive Director

Dr. Potts left a career at the Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority to pursue a doctorate in organizational behavior at Case Western Reserve University. Her research focus is human systems transformation. Her passion is specific in regards to how individuals, groups, organizations, communities and nations achieve positive growth and sustainable transformation in the midst of adversity.  Her research explored the social complexities faced by the various groups of the Rwandan nation in the aftermath of the 1994 genocide.

Dr. Potts has worked as an International Development Consultant advising nonprofits on the development and enhancement of processes of positive transformation and change.  She is a Gestalt trained leadership coach, has taught leadership at Ursuline College and is an executive leadership coach in the Diversity Management Program at Cleveland State University. She has a high degree of emotional intelligence, a strong collaborative nature and a thirst for continuous learning.

Dr. Potts is passionate about empowering underserved and marginalized people. Her work and relationships with the Life Exchange Center ‘Family’ has taught her to deeply appreciate and respect the people that she serves.
